Gyms4Africa is a Non-Profit company dedicated to collecting donations by fundraising with the primary focus on building wellness centres in the poorest parts of Africa.
The data collected by the World Health Organization clearly illustrates the rise of non-communicable diseases AKA lifestyle related diseases which is highest in the poorest areas. (NCDs) kill 41 million people each year (WHO 13 April 2021). Cardiovascular diseases count for most of these deaths with Diabetes, cancer and respiratory diseases of the major killers in this group. (NCDs) can and should be addressed with lifestyle modification. People who participate in wellness programs which include specific attention to the following primary areas: Movement, Sleep, Nutrition, Hydration have much less chance of contracting and dying from an (NCD).
The problem in Africa
In the areas we want to build our wellness centres: Africans here are mostly concerned where their next meal is coming from and not on their physical wellness which is one of the main reasons why they are hit the hardest by (NCDs).
Our goal
Educate Africans on Movement (with a special focus on aerobic and resistance exercises that promote wellness and longevity), sleep, hydration, and Nutrition.
Each gym will be equipped with an education pod. The Pod will have 4 sections

How to Move for wellness
We will have educational manuals, workouts, videos and posters. One or two persons from each community will be given the opportunity to learn and become the gym gate keeper, this person will undergo specialist training to facilitate the centre and its members.

How to Sleep for wellness
An area for testing, evaluating and learning about health and wellness for the body and mind.

How to Hydrate for wellness
We will supply clean drinking water and provide education on water’s role for human health.

How to Eat for wellness
We will donate seeds and give content on subsistence farming relevant to their area.
We will keep moving forward in our efforts to build free wellness centres throughout Africa. Helping to reduce unnecessary deaths, and to motivate and inspire and to provide for those less fortunate.
With our Gyms4Africa centres we can combat disease, motivate and inspire youth to focus on sports and wellness instead of drugs, crime and violence, provide food and water, and educate underprivileged, disadvantaged Africans on how to take care of themselves and reduce their risk of (NCDs).
